Some fotos

Have posted some fotos today as promised for your delectation. I think they speak for themselves.

The photos of La Victoria only show a small part of this giant market, most of which is given over to large commercial market stalls supplying all of Lima and beyond. These photos only show some of the stalls selling to locals and folk who come for the cheapness of the produce compared to the shops.

The turtle is Annabels pet. It's very small and cute. There are hundreds of taxis like this in the poor areas, to ferry folk up the mountains where they live etc.

Today I was at San Antonio, where a five year old called Jose has decided to adopt me as his daddy. He goes around introducing me as his new papi. Hope he ain't going to be disappointed in his choice. Mustn't let these boys get to attached though. Won't be back there until next Monday. Which is probably for tghe best.

Tomorrow off to San Juan with Flor..

Some cracking foties. Not sure about your idea of children choosing parents or at least choosing fathers. I think of a few who would have welcomed a choice but as the saying goes "beware what you wish for; you might get it" or words to that effect. Keith will have a more informed opinion on the issue.
You may have heard that the UK has slipped into a new ice age but the main national interest is engerland's failure to win the 2018 world cup. Having lost an election our PM has chalked up another historic failure not to mention that FIFA have spurned your beloved Prince (I mean Becks of course!) Little Willie doesn't count.

Anyway I did like the fotos. It's just possible that Limans/Liwomans (is there a collective noun for residents of Lima?) have access to a better diet than the average Weegie shopping in Asda if not the wherewithal to buy it. Tortoise looks tasty too.

Does the turtle/tortoise not remind you of your origins? did darwin play with a turtle or a tortoise? England's failure to win the copa del mundo didn't raise a collective eyebrow here, I'm afraid. Willie or no Willie. They are called Limenos, with that wee thingee on top of the n. Know what I mean?
