Like the photos. It seems like a good crowd for the first service on a sunday. Was it a crank shaft start for the Cusco to Lima flight?

No news in the old country that you wont know from the beeb. Nice to see the Lib Dems getting the hang of political scandals so quickly. Two weeks and one minister down. They've managed to find us another Scottish Secretary so that's again 2 in a fortnight. At this rate you might get a call from Dave and Nick when you get back.

Not forgetting that two of Scotland's finest got peerages last week. Dr John and Dominie Jack elevated at last but sadly a length of rope was not used. It seems they are classed as working peers so a second job, all expenses paid for both of them. no doubt Dr John will sling a coin or two into the kitty at parkhead when he can, so look out for big signings.

car is lovely as the expression goes but haven't had a chance to get up to the flat in the last couple of weeks. Lot of pressure to get work finished before i go on leave in a couple of weeks. Did I tell you we have tickets for Bob in Barcelona at the end of June? Plus ticket to see young Jakob in Glesga; might as well start helping the next generation of Zimmermann's get rich. He has got a good new album - give it a listen if you have anything like spotify or other legal means of beating the record companies.

I know Coinneach is keeping you posted on the free church revolution but I suspect it may turn out more 1905 than 1917. Where will they find a sober squeezebox player on the Sabbath? No good will come of it. It will be like the Sunday ferry; before you know it foreigners will be running the place and who knows who might get in. All that should be said should be said in the Gaidhlig but mine is gone.

No other pressing news - the wife and weans say hello

Neil

I think I missed some critical punctuation, at least in the last sentence or two so gather some commas and colons and scatter as required

As your young brother - the Archbishop of Livingston - says "plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose".
The usual crew have their noses in the trough while the rest of humanity gets then shit kicked out of it. By the time you get back there could be a lot of unrest in Greece, Spain etc - but the Irish seem to have taken a very harsh medicine very meekly which is a surprise.
We are enjoying light relief watching England playing complete crap as they prepare for the World Cup. I used to support France when we were not involved but I can't after the Irish - henry fiasco. I think I'll support the Spanish team - a soft choice because they are among the favourites.
Anyway we are all fine. Look after yourself
Love Coinneach

Boys, boys, boys this is all too much for me to take in, in one sitting. Are you forgetting I'm trying to learn a third language here? and my brain hurts at night. I'm also reading Anna K, so please go easy.

The flight from Cusco did remind me of old times at Stornoway airport (aerodrome as we used to call it). If you remember we used to have to do that trek out to the plane there too. Never thought I would have to repeat the experience at an international airport, such as Cusco. However I was able to help the locals get over their fears by telling them about Stornoway in the old days. Funnily enough none of them had ever heard about Sy.

I'm very pleased to hear that Dr J got his peerage. The news had not yet reached Peru, which is surprising. He was once in the CP. You probably knew that. I'm sure he will do the right thing for the bhoys!!! Do hibs not have any promising young players they could pinch, ruin and sell back? or am I being unfair? don't wish to annoy anyone, obviously.

Wish I could go with you to see Bob in Barca, but don't think my boss would allow it. Eh Gavin? If you can still get me a ticket for Jacob that would be nice. When and where?

I will be supporting Uruguay, for my pal Claudia. She's now back in Montevideo and wants me to visit. They are in French group so all good people will be on their side. After that Ivory Coast should do the trick for ur man.

I've no space left for free church problems. best left to the folk who know about these things. What happene in 1905 and 1917 by the way. Never heard mention of those dates in NI so can't have been of any consequence. Tony Cliff did seem to have an obsession with them, but I don't think he was the type to go in for free church frolics and songs. He was of another faith. byeeeeeee off to bed, its late here in lima and you will soon be getting up for work!!!

What's all this about supporting Uruguay? Estadio Neza '86, Batista sent off in the first minute for a brutal assault on Strachan,I think. Not one player from the dark side in the starting line up either that day.

Ah, those were the days although la nostalgie n'est plus ce qu'elle etait.
